Before

After

1. First, remove the seats, pipe, rear pegs, disconnect all lights in the back,
remove the tail section and the 2 bungee hooks.

2. Cut the undertray with a sharp knife or a dremel (I suggest the last one)
use safety glasses, be careful. look at the 5 pictures below to guide you

3. you'll need thet plastic bracket to hold the rear tail but it has to be cut in half like shown here

4. This is very important, all of the little tabs need to be trimmed absolutely flush to the inside of the tail section, also the middle attachement has to be trimmed flush too, the undertail will have 4 attachement now.
if you are not sure, try to install the undertail in the tail together
and you'll figure it out.

5. install the plastic bracket to the rear sub frame, temporarely install the tail and undertail, make the connections. The wire from the right side rear blinker has to pass over the stock undertray.

6. All connections are located on the rear left side. For the tail lights, the appropriate connections are the black wire from the bike to the black and white to the lights, blue to the red, and yellow
to the black.

7. Connect the blinkers the same as stock.

8. Install two zip ties(or tie wraps) at each end of the plastic bracket
to secure it solidly to the rear tube, cut off the excess and rotate them down like the next picture

9. secure all together, make final adjustments before installing the 4 plastic rivets that hold the undertail to the tail.

nice, sleek, effective and you still have trunk space!

note: tail lights now differ from the picture here

you might want to get yourself a new flasher relay because with
this set-up the blinkers will flash rapidly. part # 3100098 online Led resistor.

have fun,

Erik
