3.  Trim the most as you can on the yellow line.

4. cut on the yellow line

5. Keep the top part and install it on the bike

6. Install on the bike

Suggestion: to make the tail sits on 3 support instead of only one, I suggest you use 2 threaded rod of about 3" long, with nuts and washers like shown on the picture below where the orange arrows are, install rubber cap to protect and prevent rattles from vibrations. then adjust it in a way that the tail will be evenly supported on 3 locations,

7. Cut flat these 12 plastic guides inside the tail

8. For added strength, use two (2) zip ties (tie wraps) to secure the
plastic bracket to the aluminum tubing as shown with the 2 white arrows up here

9. install the tail without bolting it, insert the undertail in there from one side to the other, use a guide or a ruler to insert it, secure a couple of stock Yamaha plastic rivets.

10.  All connections are located on the rear left side.

The undertails are now equiped with aluminium clusters, you have to re-use the stock sockets with the provided 1157 LED bulbs (do not use anything else than LED bulbs), the clusters have 2 opennings for the sockets guides to slide in, remove the little stopper that make the third knob on each sockets.

connect the blinkers the same as stock.

Suggestion :  get yourself a new flasher relay to slow down the blinking speed, part# TR-1000 @ $6.95 from us, or run at any Car Quest or Pep Boys to get one, HD-12 from Tridon, install it under the driver seat like
show on the above picture.

11. Then secure all bolts and plastic rivets when everything fits right you might have to make yourself some attachments for the license plate
